Benjamin O'Daniel GEO Content Consulting

Hello, I am Benjamin O’Daniel.

In our SEO and GEO consulting, I am responsible for all strategic content topics. I analyze companies’ existing visibility, whether it’s Google rankings or mentions in AI systems like ChatGPT, Copilot, AI Mode, or Perplexity.

Here, my focus is on content and sources/links. I analyze existing content, from landing pages and product pages to blog articles.

I develop content strategies and roadmaps, content templates, and concrete suggestions for content optimizations.

At TH Köln, I am a lecturer in the Online Editorial Studies program. There, I am responsible for the Content Marketing seminar.

My Professional Roots

My professional roots are in journalism. Even as a student, I worked for a daily newspaper. I was in the editorial office twice a week and every other weekend. A good school. After completing my studies, I completed a traineeship – and then transitioned into the online world. For a specialized publisher, I built an online editorial department and simultaneously implemented online marketing and SEO projects.

Eventually, the term “Content Marketing” emerged. Then it suddenly became clear what I was actually doing all day 😉 I have known Fabian for 25 years; we studied together. In 2010, Fabian approached me. He covers many technical and strategic areas. But even then, it was clear: anyone who wants to rank successfully in SEO needs high-quality and optimized content. This is how our collaboration began. In 2014, we recorded our first podcast episode.

My Understanding of Consulting

As a journalist, I always learned to “break down” complex topics. This works very well in my consulting when we work with concrete examples. For instance, I always inquire about which topic or area is currently highly business-relevant. Subsequently, I analyze the existing content, competition, and user needs there.

My consulting is based on three pillars: Open, honest criticism. A constructive solution proposal, new input, a new perspective. And in the third step, an open, appreciative discussion about the proposed measures. The strength of a consultant lies in the fact that I see many different projects and look at your website and content from an external perspective.
