SEO is currently undergoing significant changes. New terms are being discussed in our industry. All new terms have one thing in common: It’s about visibility in AI systems and optimizing content for these new generative systems. These include ChatGPT, Microsoft Copilot, Perplexity, but also Google itself with its AI Overviews and soon with AI Mode. The terms explained briefly:
- GAIO: Generative AI Optimization – Focus on Generative AI
- GEO: Generative Engine Optimization – Focus on Generative Systems
- LLMO: Large Language Model Optimization – Focus on the Concept of the Language Model
All three terms describe the same topic. We also offer GEO / LLMO consulting on this. In our Academy, we are now fully focusing on GEO or AI optimization.
