How can we use a concrete example to show how optimization for increased AI visibility works? And in a realistic environment? We asked ourselves this and set up our own project.
The goal: We want to increase the AI visibility of J.O.E., our own AI Visibility Tool. And we want to do it in an environment full of well-funded, large tool providers.
The result: We increased our AI visibility from 6.8% to 46.7%. In 7 days.

The result of our GEO Case Study
For our case study, we focused on transactional prompts. Specifically, it is about the term “AI Visibility Tool,” which already has a high Google search volume in the USA and is also being searched for more frequently in Germany. The click prices for this on Google Ads are high. It is therefore a valuable keyword—an approach that is always important to us in our SEO & GEO consulting.
Accordingly, we took the prompt “I am looking for an AI visibility tool” as a base prompt. That is, a fully formulated sentence. We combined this with the criteria that are relevant to users and that our tool offers as a feature. Example: “I am looking for an AI visibility tool for a competitive analysis.” We describe the approach behind this in more detail here: How does prompt research work?
Subsequently, we:
- Identified our content gaps in AI Monitoring
- Analyzed relevant sources in AI Monitoring
- Published new landing pages in a targeted manner
- Revised and updated existing articles
- Developed and updated YouTube content
- Published a guest article on an external platform
We implemented all of this in a short time after a preparation phase.
The result:
After just three days, the first new landing pages could be seen in the monitoring. AI systems such as AI Mode, Perplexity, and ChatGPT accessed our newly created or optimized content and included it in their AI responses.
Our AI visibility increased from 6.8 percent to 46.7 percent. Within one week.
We presented the entire case study in our Academy. There, in a dedicated Academy workshop, we described the complete path in detail, including effort, mistakes, and personal learnings. The recording is available in our Academy library.
